SKYDIVING QUESTIONS
WHAT IS THE BEST THING TO WEAR TO SKYDIVE?
A good rule to follow when choosing what to wear skydiving is to focus on comfort, safety, and security head-to-toe. Ensure that your clothes are comfortable, something that you can move around in easily. Trainers are ideal for footwear. If it is a cold day wear multiple thin warm layers.
WHAT WEATHER IS REQUIRED TO SKYDIVE?
We must operate within safety limits with regards to cloud and wind speeds. We need to be able to see down through the clouds and wind speeds should be less than 20 knots. If the weather is unsuitable for tandem skydiving on your chosen date, you will be given the opportunity to re-schedule your booking.
SHOULD I EAT BEFORE SKYDIVING?
Yes, it's important to keep your blood sugar up when doing high adrenaline activities. You are more likely to feel queezy on an empty stomach.
HOW SAFE IS SKYDIVING?
Like any sport, there are risks involved with skydiving. But in everything we do, we try to mitigate those risks as much as possible. Tandem parachute systems have 2 parachutes, a main and a reserve. The main parachute is packed by packing certificate holders who’ve been checked out on each system. The reserve parachute is packed by advanced packers and must be repacked and inspected every 6 months even if it hasn’t been used. Our instructors are trained to the highest standard and our operation revolves around a rigorous Safety Management System.
HOW LONG WILL THE EXPERIENCE LAST?
Once we are all ready to go the plane journey up to altitude will take approximately 15 minutes, free fall for 60 seconds and under the parachute around 3 to 4 minutes, giving you time to take in the breath taking views. Skydiving can be weather dependent but we aim to skydive with you within 2 hours from your arrival time.
AGE AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO SKYDIVE?
For a tandem skydive in the UK you must be a minimum age of 16. Anybody who is under 18 years old will need a parent or guardian who can also sign the forms.
IS THERE A MAXIMUM WEIGHT LIMIT?
You must also weigh no more than 15 Stone / 95kg. This is for safety reasons therefore this is a strict rule we must abide by.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER HEALTH REQUIREMENTS?
Tandem skydivers must sign either a self-declaration medical form 115A. If unable to self-declare, participants must get a Doctor's request for medical advice form 115B.
CAN I JUMP WITH MY GLASSES?
Yes of course. You will be provided with goggles that fit comfortably over spectacles.
